Explanation

These stone were laid out in the precincts of Gokoku Shrine, which was around 800m northwest of the hypocenter. The stones were irradiated by the ferocious heat rays released the moment the atomic bomb exploded. The exposed surfaces of the stones have changed color, and are cracked in places.
