Explanation

Sadao Takaki, grandfather of the donor Akio Takaki , received the tile from a man who worked at the Nagasaki Medical College.
A memo in the tile’s storage box reads “This tile has been deformed so badly that its original shape is unrecognizable, due to the atomic bomb dropped by the US armed forces on Nagasaki at 11:07 am August 9, 1945. (The power of radiation is astounding.) This was given to me as a relic of the atomic bombing by a man who worked at the Nagasaki Medical College when the bomb was dropped.”
This relic shows the disastrous situation at the Nagasaki Medical College (500 meters from the atomic bomb’s epicenter), as well as showing how, from after the atomic bombing until a certain time, items from the atomic bombing such as this roof tile were a part of people’s lives and passed on to others as relics.
