The donor was in the third grade at the Prefectural Girls’ High School and was working as an office worker at the Nagasaki Mitsubishi Arms Factory Ohashi Plant at the moment she was exposed. She got burns and about one hundred splinters of glass were stuck in the left side of her body. She received treatment at Kawatana, but the splinters remained inside her body.
In August 2010 she made an appearance in an NHK TV program. There were few armbands left at the school alumni association, so she knew that her armband was precious. However, knowing that there was a possibility that she might lose it, she donated the armband during the program to the Atomic Bomb Museum, hoping that it would be preserved there.
