Explanation

The donor was in the third grade at the Prefectural Girls’ High School and was working as an office worker at the Nagasaki Mitsubishi Arms Factory Ohashi Plant at the moment she was exposed. She got burns and about one hundred splinters of glass were stuck in the left side of her body. She received treatment at Kawatana, but 50 years passed with 3 fragments remaining in her shoulder, and one in her hip. Feeling pain in her hip, she received surgery to remove the fragments at the Atomic Bomb Hospital on the 30th May 1996. The doctor believed that this was a piece of concrete.
