Norimasa Hayashi, a fourth grade student of Keiho Junior High School Class 3, was wearing this cap when he died in the bombing whilst mobilized as a student laborer at Mitsubishi Nagasaki Steel Works No. 3 Plant in 2 Takenokubo-machi. The badge on his cap was made of bamboo because at the time there was a shortage of more suitable materials.
