Explanation

This is one of the two capsules that were dropped after the atomic bombing on a place then named Yagami Village, Satsuma-jo. This was an area 6km east of the hypocenter. It is thought that it may have originally been designed as an U.S. Army incendiary bomb shell, but was then used prior to the end of the war as a case for dropping fliers by airplane.
